The TV experiment "Ferdinand von Schirach: Feinde" was a complete success: In total, over 15 million viewers tuned in.

On the first Sunday evening of 2021, viewers were offered a special TV event. The crime drama "Ferdinand von Schirach: Feinde" told the same story in two feature films from two different perspectives. In the first, the story with the additional title "Against Time" was shown from the perspective of the investigator, then the one with the title additional "The Confession" from the perspective of the defense attorney. At the same time, all third programs broadcast the feature films in reverse order. And the TV experiment was a success. According to ARD, more than 15 million people tuned in.

"Gegen die Zeit" reached 7.955 million viewers in the first, which corresponds to a market share of 21.8 percent. "The Confession" received 2.493 million viewers at the same time. That is still a market share of 6.8 percent. The documentary "Enemies – Law or Justice" that followed in the first saw 6.349 million viewers (19.5 percent market share). After the "Tagesthemen", 4.829 million viewers watched the first and third from the other perspective. A total of 15.277 million spectators attended the event evening.
