Fermentalg wants to double its turnover in 2024 – 01/25/2024 at 6:25 p.m.

(AOF) – Fermentalg announces a turnover of 4.058 million euros in 2023. The French microalgae specialist has set a turnover target of 10 million euros in 2024 and more than 25 million euros by 2026. “The sum of annual orders and contracts, less than 1 million at the start of 2023, is today more than 9 million, an increase of more than 10 in 12 months,” underlines the company.

A “very good” start to the year should allow Fermentalg to post strong growth in turnover from the 1st quarter of 2024. The company has levers to maintain and amplify this dynamic throughout the year: it has initiated discussions with several new prospects, each representing several million euros in potential annual turnover.

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report from the World Economic Forum, demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled globally, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it falls to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The Veolia manager, however, believes that the rate of 10% targeted for 2030, as part of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. At the forefront is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this area, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid for the former Suez group.
