Fernandez and Kirchner’s dispute splits Argentina’s government

The Plaza de Mayo in central Buenos Aires has been the scene of angry protests these days. A colorful mix of social organizations, unemployment movements and unions are protesting for more jobs, higher wages and benefits, exemption from energy tariffs and food allocations. In the past five years, the proportion of Argentines living in poverty has risen from 28 to 43 percent. More and more citizens are finding it difficult to pay for food, which is rapidly becoming more expensive.
