Festival in Croatia – “Some returnees” infected after a party trip

Numerous partygoers spent the past week at a festival in Croatia. However, some of the participants contracted the corona virus and brought it to Austria on their way home. Lower Austria and Upper Austria are already sounding the alarm.

Around 19,000 young people celebrated at the “Austria goes Zrce” festival on the island of Pag from July 17th to 24th. Even after a 21-year-old drowned in the sea, the party went on undisturbed for most of the festival goers.

A few days after the boozy festival ended, two federal states are already reporting infected party returnees: at least eleven Upper Austrians who took part in the trip tested positive for the corona virus after their return. However, those affected were not traveling together.

Arrived by buses
And also in Lower Austria, a few cases became known on Wednesday. As the “Krone” found out, there are at least two-digit numbers of infected people. In any case, the vast majority of the participants drove there and back by bus or their own car.

The Crisis Team of the Province of Lower Austria therefore asks all participants from Lower Austria to contact the health advice service 1450 immediately in the event of symptoms such as shortness of breath, sore throat, inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, fever, dry cough or sudden loss of the sense of taste / smell.
