Festival on Sunday – The country’s guardsmen defend traditions

Parade and festival on Sunday
The oldest evidence of the Spittal Guard dates back to 1642. The bishops used the castle guard to guard Strasbourg, which after the fire in 1767 moved with the bishop to Pöckstein. To protect the city of Strasbourg, the civil corps was formed, which went through ups and downs and was re-established in 1963. One of the driving forces back then was Herbert Illitsch, who is celebrating the anniversary with the guardsmen, the music band, which is 70 years old this year, and the traditional costume group: On Sunday, July 9, church service on the main square at 10 a.m., procession to the festival area/school center at 12:00 p.m.: The state shooters’ meeting will be celebrated there.
