Blasel: SPD and FDP without climate protection ideas
Of the possible traffic light coalition only the Greens have effective ideas in terms of climate protection, activists from “Fridays for Future” criticize the exploratory paper. Hardly any ideas come from the SPD and FDP and the Greens seem to deviate from a former red line.
The “Fridays for Future” activist and Green Party candidate who failed in the federal election, Jakob Blasel, considers the previous agreements between the SPD, Greens and FDP on climate protection to be inadequate. The exploratory paper agreed on yesterday, Friday, was “acceptable in many respects and in some cases even good,” he told the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” (RND), but continued: “I believe that tough coalition negotiations will be needed to achieve the 1.5 degree -The target does not get completely out of reach. I had higher expectations, especially in the transport and agricultural sectors. ” He is also surprised, according to Blasel, “that the Greens are apparently the only ones negotiating for consistent climate protection.” Almost no climate protection ideas can be seen from the SPD and FDP.
During the election campaign, the Greens had repeatedly emphasized that there would be no government participation without a 1.5-degree path. There was no talk of that recently.
Neubauer: “What is not on the paper is the problem”
The best-known German “Fridays for Future” activist, Luisa Neubauer, had declared that the problem was not so much what was in the paper “than what was not in it. No binding coal exit, no realistic, fair CO2 price, no end the surface sealing. That doesn’t work. “
Green social expert Sven Lehmann told the RND: “The traffic light enables a socio-political awakening. Social projects such as basic child benefits are also a milestone. Every child has the right to belong.” The Hartz IV system will, however, “only be overcome when people come for the month and no longer have to fear sanctions and controls. We have to improve this in the coalition negotiations.”
