FFP2, exit tests – tightened measures in the Corona hotspot East Tyrol

With well over 200 active positives, the Tyrolean district of Lienz currently has more than twice as many infected people as, for example, the city of Innsbruck. For this reason, FFP2 masks have been mandatory again in retail since Wednesday. Events must also be reported to the authorities and must not exceed 100 participants. FFP2 masks are also mandatory here. An exit test is compulsory in two “high incidence communities”. The mayors accept the situation.

With four corona patients in the normal and two in the intensive care unit (as of Wednesday), the situation in the Lienz district hospital is currently relatively stable, but the corona task force is now taking the situation in East Tyrol as an opportunity to “increase future effects on the health system avoid”.

Tests when leaving the country
The measures in Innervillgraten and Oberlienz are more stringent. With an incidence of 1205 and 685, they are well above the average. An exit test has been mandatory here since Wednesday. This does not apply to those who have been fully immunized (two vaccinations) or those who have recovered with at least one partial vaccination. “It wasn’t that long ago that you always had to be tested. Now the bus comes and carries out the tests ”, Innervillbaten’s mayor Josef Lusser accepts the situation. The measures are also accepted in Oberlienz.

In addition to the exit tests, there are also stricter regulations for events. The number of participants is limited to 50 in these two locations in the next two weeks. “We would have considered a procession during this period, this is still pending. We had to cancel the morning pint afterwards. You can quickly reach 50 people ”, explains the Oberlienz minister Markus Stotter.

End earlier possible
The state provides PCR test facilities in both municipalities. These are available from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The test obligation is valid until August 24th. “I’ve been told that the community doesn’t have to take two weeks to take action. If the numbers change, they can be canceled earlier, but they can also be extended, ”says Lusser.
