Between remakes and remasters, spin-offs that surf on the most popular episodes, like those on FF7 which we have stopped keeping count, lovers of the license have plenty to do. And it shouldn’t stop there, moreover, since several rumors speak of some remakes that could well be in preparation like FF9, FF6 or even a certain FFX Remake. Besides, the leaker who was behind this leak is talking about him again and says even more about the title that all Tidus and Yuna fans dream of playing.
FFX Remake is getting talked about again, hope is there for fans
Last June, theinsider Im a Hero Too indicated that FFX Remake was well in development at Square Enix according to its sources. He even added that the RPG could be released on the occasion of the game’s 25th anniversary in 2026… In his post on Reddit, the leaker does not mention one, but two projects that Final Fantasy fans hope to see materialize one day: FFX Remake and FF 10-3 (whose synopsis does indeed officially exist). Im a Hero Too explains that a reduced team is working on the remake, but that it should not be released at the time he had announced. An internal schedule change? Fading information? Good question. In any case, we will not see the game anytime soon.
Surprisingly, the leaker made the same announcement concerning FF 10-3, which he nevertheless refused to mention a few months ago. Would Square Enix work on these two productions in parallel? It seems hard to imagine, but it is possible that one or more small teams simultaneously take care of the conceptualization of the two games. In any case, it’s not for now and if the projects exist, they should certainly only be at the research and / or discussion stage.
Two projects that will require a lot of patience from the public
Of course, even if theinsider recently distinguished itself by unveiling Persona 3 Remake in advance and Persona 5 Tactica, his words should be taken with a grain of salt. In any case, we will have to wait a while since not only is nothing formalized for the moment, but as a bonus, if Square Enix is working well on these projects, they should probably not be released for several years. When the leaker says they won’t arrive for Final Fantasy 10’s 25th anniversary, he’s most certainly talking about an even more distant release and not in 2024 or 2025.
In addition, the studio has yet to complete the trilogy of FF7 remakes and is also said to be working on FF9 Remake. A certain Final Fantasy 17 could also slip into the middle of all this in a few years, so we’ll have to be patient before we even have an official FF10 Remake.
