The French internet network has been the victim of a series of fiber cuts since this morning. Free’s network is particularly affected with several DSLAMs down.
Since this morning of Wednesday April 27, 2022, a series of network outages has affected the French network. All operators are potentially affected by these optical fiber cuts. However, it is the Free operator that seems the most affected due to what seems to be another breakdown. Indeed, the specialized site free network reports that many DSLAMs have been down since this morning.
The DLSAM is the equipment located at the local level of the operator which groups the lines of the subscribers towards the Internet. With a DSLAM down, every time several hundred customers find themselves without internet access.
If you are concerned, especially in the north of France, this explains why you may have problems with the Internet since this morning.
Fortunately, the failure already seems to be being resolved by the Free teams. The situation should return to normal during the day.
