A few hours after a first update on PC, to correct the launch problem with EA anti-cheat, EA Sports indicates that it has made some gameplay changes. This was done through a Live setting, i.e. directly in-game, without players having to download an update.
These changes are not numerous and come just a few days after the release of FIFA 23, to bring some balance on two very specific things: penalties and referees. The first point makes penalty kicks less effective if taken out of time. With the second point, which concerns the referees, we see on the one hand a flexibility at the level of whistled fouls with the arms, but on the other more severity on the sliding tackles. Finally, dribbling has had its animation speed increased in some cases.

- Reduced the accuracy of penalties when the calm ring is yellow or red.
- Increased skill dribbling animation speed for low rated dribblers.
- This change specifically affects players whose dribbling attributes are below 90.
- Adjusted referee decisions so they sanction fouls involving the arms less often.
- Adjusted the decisions of the referees so that they sanction more often with a yellow card the fouls committed on hard sliding tackles.
The Live setting allows us to make a few changes without having to do a full game update. This allows us to incorporate changes faster and more frequently while maintaining game balance.
In order to ensure the integration of this change, remember to quit FIFA 23 and relaunch it when this message appears in game.
