FIFA 23: The end of the collective and FUT links?

There’s a new side to FIFA! While the next (and last) FIFA license game will arrive at the end of the year, it is already possible to find some information about it. It was a leak from a Twitter user by the name of Weaver that revealed big changes on the side of the collective. Let’s see together what FIFA 23 has in store for us!

A completely reworked collective

Would the next FIFA license game mark the end of the collective? At least, that’s what Weaver is implying, so players should say goodbye to the collective as they knew it from previous games. According to the FIFA expert, this would therefore be the end of the green, orange and red links, as would the evaluation of the collective out of 100.

The collective would therefore be replaced by a system operating on the basis ofstarsWhere “Stars”, the precise functioning of which is still unknown. All that is known about this new feature is that the maximum star rating for a team is 3, which would not be limited by nations and/or leagues. It is possible that the stars reflect the overall chemistry of the team and that the goal for the players is thus to increase them.

Impact of this change

Ultimate Team players will no doubt rejoice, as the removal of any restrictions will only diversify the players and teams that can be used in the game. The Chemistry system in FIFA licensed games currently limits players to certain combinations rather redundant, especially on FIFA 22. This change should allow players to express a little more individuality in their teams. Greater freedom for players, but a problem for icons?

Indeed, it is very likely that the legendary player icons will lose their importance. If you can associate high level players without worrying about the level of collective between nations and leagues, what is the point of such a system? Surely players won’t needlessly spend coins for a DCE of icons when half of them are unusable and they can just buy a better player.

However, we suspect that the EA Sports teams will have everything planned, and that they will know how to redesign the system to satisfy as many players as possible, and not to let the mythical icons of the game disappear. In addition, nothing has yet been officially confirmed by the EA teams. Although the leaker is a reliable insider and expert, we will have to wait for confirmation from the company itself in order to know for sure! In the meantime, if you want to know everything we know about FIFA 23, it’s right here!

While we thought that FIFA 23 would be the last game of the license, it is not! EA Sports will unfortunately not be part of it, but FIFA intends to take back the name of the legendary video games and exploit it for future productions in collaboration with third-party studios.
