FIFA 23: The winner of the World Cup predicted, with a simulation

Although the time of year does not really lend itself to it, the FIFA World Cup is well and truly about to begin in Qatar. The first match, Qatar-Ecuador, will take place on November 20, and the final on December 18, a month later. But no one knows what can happen between these two dates, between the surprises, the disappointments and the reversals of the situation as football knows so well how to offer them to us. However, as before every World Cup, EA Sports simulates the competition, this time in FIFA 23.

With a nice 100% success rate since 2010 (Spain 2010, Germany 2014 and France 2018), this simulation could well give us in advance the name of the winner.

Argentina would win the World Cup according to EA Sports

Indeed, after having simulated the entire competition via its World Cup mode, Argentina wins the trophyafter a journey strewn with pitfalls, as you will be able to see below. France, she did not deserve and even had a good competition.

Few surprises among the qualifiers

Let’s go directly to the knockout stage, since the group stage did not hold any surprises, except, perhaps, the elimination in the first round of Uruguay, quarter-finalists in Russia. For the rest, the outsiders like Canada and Mexico will not have managed to get rid of their group to invite themselves to the 1/8 finals.

Note however that only one African team managed to qualify, with Senegal, since Ghana, Cameroon or Morocco, among the best nations of this continent, failed at the foot of the wall.

A 100% South American final

If European countries dominate the debates (12 out of 16) the two South American countries, Brazil and Argentina, will more than resist by eliminating all their opponents, with more or less difficulty. In the order of the table, the Argentinians will overcome Denmark, the Dutch, who defeated England and then France. As for the Brazilians, their course will be just as difficult, with a rematch of their Russian quarter-final against Belgium, then one against their executioners at home, eight years ago, by dismissing Germany 3-0. Neymar and his teammates will see the final after beating the Portuguese in extra time.

If the small final sees France triumph, for the grand final, between two teams that have already won the competition, it is the Albiceleste who will win a third starthe premiere of Lionel Messi.

The decisive French

Even if the matches are not very prolific in this simulation, if we put aside those of Brazil, France will have managed to score (as in 2018), with three players in the top 15 of the best scorers (Mbappé, Benzema and Griezmann). The Golden Ball is also the best passer in the competition.

Of course, this is all just a simulation and the truth could be quite different. See you on December 18, to be able to compare all this, with, hopefully, a slightly more positive outcome for the Blues.
