France are getting a little closer to the FIFAe Nations Cup with a good third qualifying round and a second place at the end of this day.
As in the first week of the play-ins, France finished the third round by a second place in the Division 1 standings in Conference 1 Europeletting England slip away at the top of the group.
But the players of Brian Savary have not been demerited. After having made a mixed first part of meetings, the Blues ended the day on a shared points tie against Poland and Denmark, two big chunks. The classification was then decided on a final meeting against the Denmark, leading team in the last round. With the last 4 points won, France climbed to 2nd place with Denmark, behind England, and took a solid option for the playoffs.
Two other qualifying rounds will take place until April and the start of the Nations Cup playoffs on FIFA 22. In the 4th round we will find the Netherlands and Luxembourg, but also Hungary. Switzerland, Poland and Malta go down to Division 2.
