According to a village elder, the attackers entered Dankade, Kebbi State, on Friday evening and clashed with soldiers and police present there before killing villagers, burning stores and grain silos and carrying cattle on Saturday after the departure of the security forces.
“They killed two soldiers, a policeman and about 50 villagers. They took the Dankade community leader and many villagers hostage, mostly women and children,” Abdullahi Karman Unashi told Reuters.
