Figure skating: Belgian Hendrickx wins the French Grand Prix


The Belgian Loena Hendrickx, vice-world champion in March, won the Grand Prix de France on Saturday in Angers, the 3rd round of the international figure skating Grand Prix circuit. After having dominated the short program the day before on Latin rhythms, the young woman, who celebrated her 23rd birthday on Saturday, displayed mastery and maturity in a more classic long program. With a total of 216.34 points, she is well ahead of the South Korean Yelim Kim (194.76 pts) and the Japanese Rion Sumiyoshi (194.34 pts).
