This week, the end of the popular Kasberg ski area was politically sealed, and an era is also coming to an end economically: On Friday, the announced insolvency proceedings at the Wels Regional Court were officially opened.

On the one hand, you were still struggling with the effects of the corona pandemic, on the other hand, the high electricity costs and a warm weather break shortly after the start of the season caused a big minus of 350,000 euros, which could not be compensated for in the rest of the season. “According to the information in the insolvency application, the financial year had to end with a loss of business of around 1.3 million euros,” says a broadcast from the Credit Protection Association of 1870. Ten employees affected The first creditors’ meeting – the number of which has not yet been determined – will take place on 12 held in October. The 14 lifts – two cable cars, a four-seater chairlift, seven T-bar lifts, three magic carpets and a ski carousel – have to be dismantled, their recycling is checked by the insolvency administrator. The claims of the ten employees are covered by the insolvency remuneration fund.
