The prominent neo-racing driver honed his driving technique in the Lungau.
The German-Irish Hollywood star Michael Fassbender likes to appear naked on screen. In Muhr im Lungau, however, the 45-year-old now had to dress warmly: at around -10 degrees Celsius he swept across the ice in a Porsche. “Michael drives races professionally, like last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans,” says Reini Sampl, who runs the winter driving training center in Lungau. Together, the two of them fine-tuned their driving technique on difficult ground in Muhr. “We were on the ice for three days. Michael was very focused and learned quickly,” says Sampl about his student. As a reward, we then went to the Gasthof zur Post. The Hollywood star was not recognized there. However, there is no need to be afraid of contact due to language barriers: “You can talk to Michael well in German,” says Sampl, who is expecting the Hollywood star to attend the next training session in Muhr soon.
