Fantasy fans are eagerly awaiting the new series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”. The production premieres on September 2nd on Amazon Prime Video. In it: the Welsh actress Morfydd Clark (33) as the young Elf Galadriel. However, the shooting was not a walk in the park for the 33-year-old, as she is now in one interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung”.. So there was a not entirely harmless incident on the set.

“I sank down like a stone”

“In one scene in the water, my cloak kind of wrapped around my legs and I went down like a stone,” Clark says in an interview. “But there were stunt people everywhere who pulled me out straight away.” For the first time in her life, she felt like she was being saved. Laughing, the actress adds: “And for a short time I fell in love with the man who was the first to get me out.”

As in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, there will also be some sword fights in the series. “In preparation, we had three hours of sword fighting practice almost every day for months,” says the actress. You started from scratch. “It started with the basics and then got more and more challenging.” Most of the time she was “completely exhausted and very sweaty”.

Do you feel safer today if you had to walk through a dark alley? “Not really,” said the 33-year-old. After all, part of the training consisted of “not hurting the colleagues around me”. In addition, sword fighting is more of a kind of dance. “So I could at most dance with the attacker in the dark alley.”

Second season already confirmed
