Free continues to enrich its offer for its Freebox customers, and in particular those who appreciate cinema.
With more than 300 films and series added at no additional cost to OQEE by Free, Free is stepping up to the second by offering an expanded AVoD (Advertising Video on Demand) service this March 7, 2023 with OQEE Ciné.
This is good news for Freebox subscribers!
Streaming from bed, on the train or during lunch break is becoming a growing habit that Free intends to perpetuate with OQEE Ciné. If you don’t know (yet?) OQEE by Free, this is the interface allowing Freebox customers to watch their content, in particular on their connected television. Also, if you are a movie lover or like to watch series, and you are a Freebox customer, you will be able to benefit from new programs at no additional cost with OQEE Ciné.
The principle is to offer no less than 300 films and series in AVoD. What is it ? AVoD is a classic video-on-demand service that includes the subtlety of lowering the price of the invoice by adding periods of advertisements during programs, generally at the rate of 4 to 5 minutes per hour. Nothing too bad, in short. This type of formula is particularly successful in the United States, but it helps to understand why this development does not include a price increase in the Free grid. In this case, Freebox customers will therefore be able to enjoy OQEE Ciné both on their Smart TV (Apple TV and Android TV) and on their smartphone, with OQEE by Free applications for Android and iOS, and even on their tablet. (under Android like iPadOS).
This is therefore practical in terms of accessibility thanks to this cross-platform compatibility. It should also be noted that OQEE by Free already provides access to a TV package of 580 channels, 270 of which are included as standard, as well as features such as replay to watch channels, films and series both live and on replay.
New content added every month
In line with many streaming services, OQEE Ciné allows you to create customizable profiles, watch content image by image, or even control live streaming, for example by pausing a program. In its press release, the Iliad group also announces that OQEE Ciné will have an expanded catalog each month with new content.
As it stands, it is already possible to find blockbusters from yesterday and today such as Godzilla, Hellboy Or Limitlessclassics like The Last of the Mohicans And Draculayouth films like The Muppets in space Or Stuart Little 2and series such as Damages Or Charlie’s Angels.
