RTL + has everything in one subscription

RTL Deutschland has renamed its streaming service TVNOW to RTL +. The new RTL + can do a lot more. In addition to films and series, it will in future offer subscribers music, podcasts, audio books and premium magazines.

RTL + will be developed into the first all-encompassing media subscription in Germany in the first half of 2022. Subscribers will then not only receive films and series, shows, documentaries, sports and information, but also an extensive range of music, exclusive podcasts, a well-stocked audio book library and access to premium digital magazines. The motto: see more, hear more, read more.

With the expansion of RTL + in the coming year, subscribers will for the first time also be able to read digital editions of premium magazines such as Stern, Gala, Brigitte, 11 Freunde or Geo from the Gruner + Jahr portfolio directly on their screen – and thus have access to the diverse range of content from finance, entertainment, food, living and lifestyle to family and sport.

RTL + for the whole family

The new entertainment platform, in which all types of digital media are bundled, establishes a new generation of streaming services: RTL + will be the first “one app, all media” offering on the market. RTL + thus simplifies the use of streaming for people of all ages who would like to be fully informed and entertained with a single registration, without being too often bound by a contract.

“RTL + makes streaming easier than ever. With a subscription, our customers get access to an entertainment world that is unique in its diversity. Series, films and sports, documentaries and news, music, podcasts and audio books as well as premium magazines – they can watch more to their hearts’ content, hear more and read more “, explain Matthias Dang and Stephan Schäfer, the CEOs of RTL Germany. “RTL + also means a real innovation for the international media market. We know from market research that a great many people have been waiting for such an offer, which is diverse and easy to use at the same time.”

Simply stream: intelligent search on RTL +

Subscribers will be able to use the diverse content easily, intuitively and individually. To do this, RTL + has invested in the development of an AI-based technology. A recommendation algorithm guarantees that suitable content is always suggested across all media types with the help of intelligent text, audio and video analysis. In this way, RTL + also creates an entertainment experience that connects media in terms of technology, with which users not only discover the content that is of interest to them, but also learn about additional content.

Partnership with Telekom continues: RTL + on MagentaTV

The successful partnership with Deutsche Telekom will also be continued: The TVNOW streaming service has been an integral part of MagentaTV since the end of 2020. To this end, Telekom has introduced a new tariff portfolio and integrated TVNOW Premium into the MagentaTV tariffs Smart and Smart Flex at no additional cost. This also applies after the renaming to RTL +. The next step will follow in 2022: Telekom will also integrate the new entertainment platform RTL + into MagentaTV – exclusively and with a price advantage for its customers.
