Final Fantasy 16: Release date for The Rising Tide announced – Then you can play the DLC

• You can play “The Rising Tide” from April 18th.
• There are new heroes, Tomberries and you can unleash the power of Leviathan.
• There are 20 new player levels.

There will be a new expansion (“DLC”) for Final Fantasy 16 before the PC version of the game comes out next year. The game is currently exclusive to the PS5.

At the PAX East 2024 trade fair, several Square Enix employees announced the new DLC for the game called “The Rising Tide” in a panel. The expansion will be released on April 18th at a price equivalent to around 19 euros.

According to the employees, fans can look forward to a variety of innovations. These include new heroes, Tomberries, boss fights and the introduction of Leviathan abilities as well as the new area Mysidia.

Additionally there is the content called “Kairos Gate”. This is endgame content with 20 consecutive stages. These should be accessible after completing the main game and the DLC.

“The Rising Tide” builds on the previous expansion “Echoes of the Fallen” and adds new chapters to the game that continue the main story. Among the new allies is Shula, who supports Clive in the fight.

The developers emphasize that the final battle should be particularly challenging, so players should improve their Ifrit skills. Square Enix has also announced a free update for the base game.
