The story of young Cloud returned on April 10, 2020 with a first episode bearing the name of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The latter is the first in a series to tell in a new light the scenario told by this opus originally released on PS1. In this article, we return to the announcement of the sequel to the remake which had the right to its trailer during the celebration of 25 years of Final Fantasy 7.
Final Fantasy 7, a legendary opus?
The Final Fantasy saga is known all over the world and although there are a multitude of licensed games, only some of them remain truly iconic. We think in particular of Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X or Final Fantasy VII. This opus, having marked most players at the time, has been able to come back in force in recent years with the first part of its remake, but also the expansion of the universe by offering a Battle Royale called Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier. In addition to that, you will be able to discover the history of this opus through another mobile game which bears the name of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. And if you still doubt its popularity and legendary side, just mention these few names: Cloud, Aerith, Tifa or Sephiroth whose musical theme still remains in the memories of some players at the present time, because it marked them.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the sequel is revealed
Now back to our basic topic as there is a new game that was announced last night and it will interest you as it is the sequel to the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Unlike the first, which bears the name Remake, this second volume will be called Rebirth. The first thing to note about this new opus is that it is cdesigned to allow players to enjoy the story even if they discover the universe through this episode.
What was revealed by Yoshinori Kitase, the game’s producer, is that they want make this new title more gripping and memorable than Final Fantasy VII Remake was. Naoki Hamaguchi also informs us that the remake project will indeed take place in the form ofa trilogy. He adds that they want Rebirth to be an original game that will deliver the ultimate gameplay experience. The ambitions for this sequel are very high and we hope it will live up to expectations.
To finish on this game, let’s go back to the trailer which allows us to see a scene where Cloud and Sephiroth find themselves together or another where Zack helps Cloud who seems exhausted. Although the trailer shows us very little, we still have two last crucial pieces of information. First, the game will be available on PS5 and then it is scheduled for release in winter 2023which means it will be late December and early 2024.
