Final Fantasy XIV producer talks about his game’s plans for the next 10 years

Final Fantasy XIV is currently experiencing an explosion in its numbers. In 2015, the game only counted that 5 million players on its servers, now this figure has increased to 25 million. It has caught up well since its release in 2010, which had almost marked the death of the game, so badly did it go. From now on, Final Fantasy XIV is a must-have and with the latest expansion, Endwalker, concluding the story arc the game had known for a decade, Final Fantasy XIV doesn’t end there. since it already has content planned for the next 10 years.

First of all, Yoshida wanted to clarify one point, Final Fantasy XIV will not have an NFT, “neither now nor in the future” even if Square Enix seems to be very interested in the latter. Additionally, Yoshida asserted that he would continue to oversee the game for years to come. He then gave an update on many new features that should join Final Fantasy XIV in the future, even if we have no information about the narrative development of the game.

A graphic overhaul

Final Fantasy XIV players will first have the right to new single-player content within the game. The system of Adjuration, which has been present in the game since the Shadowbringers DLC, will allow players launch dungeons by replacing humans with AI. This feature was not currently available that in some dungeons, it will now be extended to all dungeons in the game. These first touch-ups should also arrive in April.

Yoshida also takes the opportunity to reveal another major element that should change within FF XIV in the future, game graphics. A total overhaul of the graphics should be brought to the textures of Final Fantasy XIVhowever, it would be so important that Square Enix cannot release it in its entirety and will have to deploy it bit by bit. The game should therefore very soon take a facelift with improved textures and more in the era of time.

However, this is not all that will happen in the future, with many new features planned, which will be released in future updates. You can also find the preview of the next patches below:
