Final Fantasy XVI: 25 minutes of gameplay shared between a fiery boss fight and dungeon exploration

In addition to the uninformative messages from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the technical demo Memoria Project made by fans of Final Fantasy IXwe are especially looking forward to the arrival of Final Fantasy XVI, the new numbered episode of the license. Its launch trailer was unveiled during the Playstation Showcase, but that obviously doesn’t mean we’re done hearing about it. It’s on the side ofIGN that our gaze turns, because our colleagues had the chance to discover several new passages of the game as part of their program IGN First. Of course, if you want to keep all the surprise, we advise you not to watch, but there is no big spoilers a priori.

The first, almost 7 minutes and without interruption or commentarystage a boss clash against Liquid Flamea fiery enemy faced by Clive at level 24 despite having the Blessings of Phoenix, Garuda And Ramuh, in an arena housing a crystal. If we are to believe the beginning of the most recent video broadcast, visible below, it is theInner Sanctum. This presents 18 minutes of gameplay taking place in two dungeons. In the first located in this same area, probably before the boss, the protagonist is always at the same level, accompanied by Jill and his faithful Talgor obviously, the opportunity to see different skills in action. Given the name of some enemies, the team therefore ventured iron kingdom and head towards the mother crystal of Dragonbreath.

The other dungeon trades red for the blue of the mother crystal of Chefdrac To Bloodbredas evidenced by the kinematics where Jill points out how gigantic the crystal is. The troupe is accompanied by cid with Clive at level 21, we should therefore explore these places before the previous segment shown. This other dungeon takes the form ofa mine with summoned monsters Akashicthen from a temple in the area named The Patch of the Goddess. And in any case, the music of Soken delight our esgourdes!

Finally, IGN was able to speak with Hiroshi Takai and Ryota Suzuki, Game and Combat Directors respectively, in order to talk about the skills granted by the Blessings of the Primordials. Several of them are thus shown in the mode Coaching accessed through the Stele of Excellenceincluding those of Phoenix, Garuda And Titan that we had experienced and described during our first preview. More interesting, we therefore discover those of Ramuhwith the creation of an electric orb and the unleashing of lightning.

There are only two weeks left until the launch of Final Fantasy XVI on PS5, available for pre-order on Amazon from €71.99 Or to the Fnac from €68.99 with 10 € offered on your loyalty account.
