Released on PS5 last June, we clearly haven’t finished hearing about Final Fantasy XVI in the months and years to come. In fact, he will be entitled to collaboration in the MMORPG FFXIVto a PC version and especially to DLC paying. Its update 1.10 released in September notably made changes to the mode Arcade and it is precisely him who interests us now, because another patch is approaching.
This is therefore the mode Arcade which is again concerned and here is what is said:
Arcade Leaderboard Update
On December 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. JST / 6:00 a.m. CET / 12:00 p.m. EST (subject to change), an update will be released that will adjust the method by which combat performance scores are calculated in Arcade mode.
It will also introduce a new leaderboard where all new scores will be recorded.
Please note that after installing the update, you will no longer be able to record scores on the old leaderboard.
An additional announcement will be made when the update is released, which will detail its contents.
You will notice that the release of the patch will occur just after the Game Awards 2023. Coincidence? Naoki Yoshida had declared that he wanted to talk again about DLC and the PC version by the end of the year, so what better than this event for a final burst of brilliance?
On this subject, the ceremony of PlayStation Partner Awards 2023 Japan Asia has just taken place and Final Fantasy XVI was one of the three main winners of the Grand Award rewarding the best-selling Asian games worldwide between October 2022 and September 2023. The game director Hiroshi Takai took the floor for the occasion and, as reported GameWatchsaid the following about the two extensions :
These two episodes allow you tolearn more about the world of FFXVI and discover the “darkness” and “mysteries” of Clive’s story. We also hope to introduce powerful new enemies and elements that will make combat more enjoyable. Please look forward to it.
Development having only begun after the game’s release, we should not hope for an imminent release, but their names and the broadcast of a first preview would not be surprising.
On the other hand, the tweet from the Japanese voice actor of CliveYūya Uchida, saying that he heard rumors that an announcement would be made in December in no way indicates that he knows anything, especially since the basic recording of the game’s dialogue is done in English, so by Ben Starr, before other languages are concerned.
