Final Fantasy XVI: an update 1.03 available with new technical features

Even before the release of Final Fantasy XVI, Square-Enix had promised that some technical improvements would arrive after launch via updates. A feature should, for example, allow adjust motion blur and it is available today thanks to the arrival of patch 1.03 on PS5.

Otherwise, it brings in-depth setting options for camera sensitivity, 3 new layout possibilities for the keys and some fixes. THE changelog complete is available below.

  • Adds the following items to the System tab of the main menu:
    • Motion Blur Intensity – Allows the player to adjust the intensity of the motion blur effect when the character or camera is in motion. The default setting is the maximum of 5. This option can be lowered to reduce the intensity of the motion blur effect or set to 0 to turn it off completely.
    • Player Tracking (Movement)/Player Tracking (Attack) – Disabling these settings prevents the camera from automatically tracking the player when they move or attack.

  • Changes the maximum setting of the Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal) and Camera Sensitivity (Vertical) items from 10 to 20.
  • Adds three new controller layouts: D, E, and F types.
  • Fixes an issue that affected the stability of some menus.
  • Fixes some text issues.
  • Adds #FF16 hashtag when sharing screenshots or video clips on Twitter or YouTube.

Other performance improvements are to be expected, particularly in terms of frame rate, so stay tuned for future updates. Already sold more than 3 million copies, Final Fantasy XVI is available from €79.99 per Fnac.
