Final Fantasy XVI: very good news for the PC port!

Last summer, Square Enix threw Final Fantasy XVIa role-playing game exclusive to PlayStation 5 from Sony. But, a few months later, the Japanese studio has formalized the development of a PC version, which is still waiting. Rest assured, Square Enix hasn’t forgotten it, things are progressing very well.

Naoki Yoshida, producer of the game, spoke with Game Informergiving very good news regarding this PC port of Final Fantasy XVI :

In terms of where we are currently in development, we are trying to understand the final stages of optimization right now. When we can release the PC version might depend on that, what system requirements and PC specs players will need, so we’re trying to figure that out. Naturally, the PC’s specs seem somewhat high.

Development therefore seems well advanced, the studio is working on optimization, often a final step in the design of a video game, even if it can take time, especially for a PC port which must adapt to a multitude of configurations. To find out the release date, you will have to wait a while longer, but Square Enix will allow you to discover the RPG on computers before its official launch, allowing players to verify that their PC is powerful enough to run FF XVI :

And to do this, we are also planning to release a demo for the PC version. Again, we can’t really talk about too many details about the release date – I think in a while we’ll be in a better position to announce all of that. But one thing is certain: it won’t be too far in the future; it won’t be in a year, it won’t be in two years, it will probably be shorter than that, so stay tuned.

Clear, Square Enix should give concrete information regarding the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI in the coming months, unless developers hit a bone during optimization. Players on PS5 can already have fun with the first expansion Echoes of the Fallenthe second The Rising Tide DLC will arrive during the spring.

Obviously, PC gamers hope that FF XVI will arrive in full version with all its additional content from D-day, but for that, you will have to wait for confirmation from Square Enix. Until then, you can find PCs gaming on Amazon, Cdiscount Or there Fnac.
