In the boxes since 2015, the film Borderlands finally comes out of its post-apocalyptic production and is adorned with a theatrical release date.
In any case, this is what the official Twitter accounts of the film and the totally barred franchise have indicated, which has given its letters of nobility to the looter-shooter genre.
Pandora’s box finally opens
They say that everything comes at the right time to who knows how to wait, and this applies rather well to the famous film Borderlandswhich we started to hear about since 2015. Directed by Eli Roth (hostel And The Green Inferno), the movie adaptation of the video game franchise supposedly wrapped filming in June 2021.
Fast forward two years later, as social media around Borderlands are waking up from a long torpor to finally announce a release date for this famous film: see you in theaters on… August 9, 2024!
Fans waiting to see what this film will give will however be disappointed to find that we are only entitled with this announcement to an image that does not say much more. For a trailer in good and due form, it will therefore be necessary to come back later.
On stage, the Brutasses!
What this colorful image reminds us of, however, is an explosive cast: Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), Jack Black (Claptrap), Ariana Greenblatt (Tiny Tina), Florian Munteanu (Krieg) and Jamie Lee Curtis (Tannis).
In view of the characters portrayed, the synopsis of this film will therefore focus mainly on the first game of the franchise, while going all the same to draw some ideas from the excellent second opus, with in particular Tiny Tina.
It remains to be seen if this very long shooting and these three years of post-production will be able to provide, if not a very good adaptation, at least a good entertainment Borderlands has the secret. Verdict in August of next year!
