The excellent mods for The Witcher 3 are legion… and the good episodes of the Netflix series a little less. So the modders said to themselves: why not mix the two?
Thus, a video of modded The Witcher 3 allows us to see what the game looks like with the actors of the Netflix series. A compilation of mods was therefore used to offer us the best mix of the two adaptations. We’ll let you judge the result.
The Netflix series: The Witcher 3 Edition
With The Witcher 3 released in 2015, CD Projekt RED achieved two feats. First, we were treated to one of the best open world RPGs of all time. Then, the game helped immensely popularize The Witcher books by Polish novelist Andrzej Sapkowski. In 2019, Netflix took over with a series of its creation. The casting was convincing, notably with the iconic Geralt of Rivia played by the passionate Henry Cavill. Alongside a collaboration between CD Projekt RED and Netflix with free content for The Witcher 3, fans also had fun applying the actors’ faces to their characters in the game.
The rest of the series, we unfortunately know it. Henry Cavill jumped ship after season 3 due to a deep disagreement with the showrunners. According to him, they would have deeply lacked respect for the original novels. And in many ways, it’s hard to prove him wrong. Fortunately for fans, it is possible to have the talented actors of the series play in the game, just to keep better memories of them. The video below, titled “ POV: The Netflix series was actually good », illustrates very well the very convincing work of the modders. Be careful though, it massively spoils the ending of the game. We therefore advise you to discover it for yourself (please, do yourself a favor and play this masterpiece if you haven’t already done so!), before watch this video.
