She was dead in the Könizberg forest in Niederwangen BE. The body of Lisa M. († 8) was found on Wednesday. It is not yet clear why the girl had to die. A person from the child’s environment was arrested, as the cantonal police in Bern announced on Thursday.
The neighborhood where the eight-year-old lived is in shock. Also parents and friends of the girl. Among them Isabelle Mumenthaler (36). She knew Lisa. Her daughter Luana (8) was very good friends with the girl and went to school with her before Lisa moved to Köniz.
“The news was a big shock – for me and all my friends in the neighborhood. Lisa has always played with our children. She was a very sweet and funny girl,” she says to Blick. ‘She always called me Isabella. I always thought it was so sweet, »says the 36-year-old.
“The good memories remain for us”
At the Mumenthalers’ home, the eight-year-old was always a welcome guest. Like last Saturday. “She spontaneously came to us to play. She was always very happy with us,” says the mother. Lisa and Luana played and drew with Barbie dolls. And: “I still have a drawing of her that she forgot.” It’s a heart of all the colors of the rainbow.
Lisa also wanted to spend the night with her friend. Mumenthaler told the girl she could come back next week when the holidays started.
Since the incident, the mother and her two children have been very afraid to go outside. “I can hardly sleep and I keep hearing noises. I am very unwell.” On Wednesday evening, the mother tells her daughter what happened to Lisa. “We looked at old photos of the two together. Now we only have the good memories.” (dus/vof)
