Launched for the very first time in 1985, Paint (yes, it is indeed about him) took its first steps alongside Windows. If this famous photo editing software today pales in comparison to other applications whose names will not be mentioned, it must be admitted that it still has symbolic value for many of us today. As surprising as it may seem, Microsoft has not abandoned it over the years and has even continued to supply it with new features.

At present, the Redmond company is in the process of deploying version 1.2304.17.0 of Paint to Insider members of Windows 11. The perfect opportunity for the software to stock up on new features, including one of between them was particularly expected…

Paint will soon support dark mode

If you’re currently on Windows 11, and your operating system natively uses the dark theme, then don’t be surprised to see Paint sporting dark colors over the next few days. Indeed, the software will finally be entitled to its dark fashion, enough to allow your eyes to feel a little less attacked. Note that you can directly change the appearance of Paint in the application settings, regardless of your Windows preferences.

The deployment of this new Paint update for Windows 11 will also be an opportunity to discover other new features, including the ability to set a custom zoom value. You’ll also be able to zoom in on the image more precisely using new controls, as well as adapt the size of the window to that of your screen. Finally, note that the dialogs have been updated to better match the design of Windows 11 and that various redesigns have been made regarding the accessibility of the application.
