Capable of filming in 4K at 60 frames per second, the Elgato Facecam Pro webcam is already available for purchase.

On the other hand, this technical performance has a certain price.

2160p60 for Facecam Pro

For content creators who want to show their face during their streams, most of the time you have to choose between the number of frames per second and the definition. Generally, a UHD display will not go beyond 30 fps, and wanting 60 fps will result in a maximum display of 1080p. But here comes the Elgato Facecam Pro.

Capable of displaying an image in 4K at 60 fps, this evolution of the Facecam takes its ease to be able to offer this solution. Voluminous, both in width and in depth (
116 x 38 x 79 mm for 240 g without fixing), the Facecam Pro is also not cheap: 349.99 euros. The monitor mount has a standard quarter-inch thread.

A complete hardware and software solution

Its 1/1.8 inch wide-angle (90°) Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor is accompanied by a 21mm f/2.0 autofocus lens. Thanks to its new chip, its focus range is better than the non-Pro version, namely from 10 cm to infinity. However, this model still does not have a built-in microphone.

Connected via a USB-C to USB-C cable (so be careful to have the necessary port on your PC or Mac), this webcam also benefits from software improvements to improve image quality: light correction, automatic noise, variable focus, etc. In addition, thanks to an in-house algorithm, capturing an image in 2160p60 to a service that does not support more than 1080p60 allows you to enjoy a better quality image in FHD.

The Camera Hub application also allows you to adjust the Facecam Pro according to your needs and save your settings there. Management of zoom, contrast, white balance, visual effects, or creation of presets: the possibilities are numerous. Compatibility with NVIDIA Broadcast and the Steam Deck is also included.
