Find and emphasize the chocolate side – that's how it works

The chocolate side – a mystery or does it really exist ?! Make-up artist Serena Goldenbaum reveals all the secrets in the new GALA podcast "Glossip".

Every woman has probably already gone in search of her own chocolate side. But not everyone is successful. At least until now. Make-up artist Serena Goldenbaum reveals in the GALA podcast "Glossip" how to find your favorite side – and of course how to properly stage it.

Chocolate side – but where?

I would say the chocolate side is the side that shows your best version of yourself. I take a close look at my customers and then pay attention to what you can tease out more from them. Each half of the face is different and expresses something different.

We have all noticed that before – and be it through funny photo montages. If, however, you don't even know where your chocolate side is, there is a trick, according to Serena: "It's mostly where your head is." Do you already feel confirmed?

Of course, we shouldn't only emphasize our chocolate side – it would be strange if we only put make-up on one side. Therefore, you should definitely know what color type you are and what suits you. According to Serena, rosy, light skin is more of a characteristic of a cool guy. A cool shade of blonde, cool shades of blue and the like go perfectly here. So first you should analyze exactly what looks good on you (of course that doesn't mean that you should just wear that). But if you apply make-up to match your color type, the result just looks much more coherent. By the way, before-and-after pictures provide the ultimate proof. "I love working with photos," says Serena Goldenbaum.

The face shapes can of course also be optimized. For round faces, Serena recommends the contouring make-up technique, for example. But remember: You can't make an oval face out of a round face, but it can be modeled in such a way that it looks slimmer. How it works? Find out here: Contouring – this is how it works!
