WhatsApp regularly tests new features in its beta versions for iOS and Android. In recent years, the messenger has developed significantly and offers various features and configuration options. This is sometimes at the expense of clarity. A search function is currently being tested so that you don’t lose track of the settings and can find certain options more quickly.
The fan blog WABetaInfo discovered the new function in the current WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.73. In the settings, Messenger displays a search bar that can be used to find options more quickly. If you enter “photo” there, WhatsApp will provide the appropriate setting suggestions.
According to WABetaInfo, the new feature is not yet available for all testers. It is possible that the function will be rolled out on the server side. It is not known if and when Messenger will release the search function for all users – it would definitely be a practical innovation for the app.
The service is also working on other functions. Among other things, a feature is being tested in the beta version that is intended to enable the subsequent editing of sent messages. In addition, the messenger is apparently bringing back the newsletter function, which was abolished in 2019.
