Fine hair: our readers tested redensifying shampoos to give them volume, here is their verdict: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

If you have fine hair, it lacks density and you find it flat, turn to a shampoo designed to give body to your hair. It can contain assets like guar gum, which will coat the hair to protect it and give it flexibility. You can also find biotin because it helps to reduce breakage, or even water lily extract, which gives thickness. The textures, lighter than classic formulas, gently cleanse without weighing down the lengths.

Volume Fortifying Treatment Shampoo, Dr. Pierre Ricaud

“Brilliant lengths”, Marie-Caroline, 28 years old.

My first impression. I find that the packaging lacks color, but it is qualitative. The bottle is fully recyclable, It’s a plus ! The texture is transparent, the scent is fresh and fruity.

After a few days. The formula foams well, a small amount of material is needed. After washing, my hair is soft and shiny.

Should I keep it or not? Yes, my hair looks thicker and has definitely gained volume. On the other hand, I have not yet noticed the strengthening action.

Volumizing Shampoo, Phyto

“Visible volume”, Anne-Laure, 48 years old.

My first impression. The bottle is modern, the well-designed cap is solid and will not open in the suitcase. Its very successful fragrance is natural and floral.. The material is neither too liquid nor too thick and rinses very easily.

After a few days. When I dry my hair, the volume is there! My lengths are softer when I compare with other shampoos. The plus: my hair doesn’t get greasy as quickly as usual.

Should I keep it or not? Yes, but the volume does not last all day, the ideal is to use a complementary styling product.

Densifying Treatment Shampoo, Caffeine 1% + Acetyl tetrapeptide-3, Typology

“A soothing formula”, Justine, 39 years old.

My first impression. I like the clean design of the bottle with the ingredients visible on the label. My scalp is very sensitive and I’m losing hair, so this shampoo is promising.

After a few days. The texture foams well and it is pleasant to use, even if the scent is very pronounced. I didn’t use conditioner because I didn’t need it. My hair is shiny and easy to style.

Should I keep it or not? Yes, it suits me well and calms my scalp. I will continue to use it to see if it keeps its promises on reducing hair loss.

Volume + Strength Filler Thickening Shampoo, John Frieda

“Guaranteed pumping”, Irina, 28 years old.

My first impression. Opening the bottle is not easy even after a few uses. The texture is creamy, it’s pleasant, but it doesn’t foam much.

After a few days. The formula rinses out very quickly. If I don’t apply conditioner or mask immediately, I have trouble detangling my lengths. On the other hand, I noticed from the first use that my fine and usually flat hair had more volume once dry.

Should I keep it or not? Yes, I really like the volume effect of this shampoo.

How to properly apply your shampoo

When using the shampoo, take the time to massage your scalp. Make gentle circular movements with your fingertips for one to two minutes. This gesture effectively washes your roots, activates blood circulation and stimulates hair growth.
