Embolo has to pay twice for the corona scandal

Breel Embolo violates the corona rules. The professional soccer player is exposed in a bizarre way. For this, the Gladbacher is sentenced to a fine by his club. It is now clear: it will not stop there.

The city of Essen imposed a fine of 8,400 euros on professional footballer Breel Embolo from Borussia Mönchengladbach after an illegal party for violating Corona regulations. “The decision includes a total of three violations, including participation in an event and a violation of the mask requirement,” reported city spokeswoman Silke Lenz.

The reason for the amount of the fine is the “special income situation”. “These have been taken into account.” The decision had been issued in the meantime and the objection period had expired. “There was no objection, so the decision is final,” said Lenz. Nothing was known about fines against other participants in the party.

The now 24-year-old Swiss is said to have participated in the illegal party in a restaurant on Essen’s Baldeneysee almost three months ago, according to earlier information from the police. At that time, the personal details of 23 people were recorded, including Embolo’s. The Borussia professional was not found by the police in the restaurant, but in an adjoining apartment. He had been in the apartment next door to watch basketball, he had stated and denied having partied.

Just over a week after the incident, Borussia Mönchengladbach had sentenced Embolo to a “heavy fine”. In a club announcement, sports director Max Eberl had accused Embolo of “careless and wrong behavior”. The amount of the club penalty was not known.
