Healthy, strong nails are a blessing – and not just for aesthetic reasons. Brittle fingernails can indicate health problems or vitamin deficiencies. With the right nutrition, nails are strengthened from the inside out, with the right manicure technique from the outside.

Vitamin C and biotin for stronger nails

Speaking of manicures: the right technique is crucial when it comes to strengthening the nails. Brittle nails should be handled particularly gently. Simply filing away is wrong. First of all, the nails should be soaked in an oil bath to avoid additional splitting and tearing. A mineral file is suitable for shortening and shaping the nails. If you only file in one direction, you also protect the nail plate.

Finally, apply a growth-promoting or strengthening clear lacquer. If it is to be colored, we recommend using a natural varnish enriched with vitamins. This gives the sensitive nail bed more protection. If the lacquer is to be removed, it is best to use an acetone-free product, the ingredients of which usually have an additional caring effect.
