The prosecution of Brest, in Finistère, announced this Friday, January 14 the indictment of a teacher for rape and sexual assault on a minor as well as possession of child pornography images.
The man is suspected of having raped and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old student at his school, the Tristan-Corbière high school in Morlaix (Finistère). The facts would have taken place on a recurring basis between January and October 2020.
This 57-year-old French teacher was arrested on Monday January 10 at his home, before being placed in police custody in the process.
According to the Brest prosecutor’s office, the investigation was opened after the report, in December, of the principal of the Michel-Favé high school “following revelations”. “The young woman had the courage to alert us and we immediately reported to the public prosecutor,” he told AFP.
The man would have initially denied the accusations, before recognizing relations “agreed” according to Ouest-France. Indicted, the 50-year-old is now under judicial control with a ban on practicing his profession.
