HELSINKI, May 15 (Reuters) – Finnish President Sauli Niinisto confirmed on Sunday that his country is an official candidate for NATO membership.
The President and the Finnish government spoke out on Thursday for rapid accession to the Atlantic Alliance, a major turning point in Helsinki’s foreign policy caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. (Essi Lehto; French version Nicolas Delame)
