Scarfing work on a new building in Angath in Tyrol should have gotten out of control on Tuesday afternoon in the sweltering heat. The fire and black smoke were visible from miles away. Several fire brigades responded and were finally able to bring the fire under control.
At around 4.45 p.m. the sirens wailed in the Unterland community. The roof of a new building caught fire. The cause of the fire was probably scarfing work that was carried out there. “Nobody was injured,” the police said. The fire brigades Wörgl, Angath and Angerberg were able to extinguish the fire. The amount of property damage is still unclear.
