The fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m., according to the Uri cantonal police on Sunday night. A warehouse with disposal material was in full fire when the fire brigade arrived. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control and extinguish it. The extent of the property damage could not be quantified for the time being.
According to the announcement, the Gotthardstrasse was normally passable again from midnight. The authorities lifted the recommendation to close windows and doors. The Uri cantonal police have started investigating the cause of the fire.
