Fire brigades demanded – truck came off the road: hour-long recovery

The Spielberg and Knittelfeld fire brigades had to move out on Tuesday to rescue trucks lasting several hours.

For reasons that are not yet known, a semi-trailer truck left the road in the Spielberg area around 5 p.m. and came to a standstill on the steep terrain after around 200 meters in front of a wooded area. One of the first measures taken by the 30 firefighters deployed was to use ropes to stop the truck to secure another slip, says chief fire inspector Gerald Stengg from the Spielberg fire brigade. With two cable winches, the heavy vehicle was finally able to get out of its predicament centimeter by centimeter so that it could then continue its journey unharmed.
