Fire on Postalm – lift worker was rescuer in case of fire alarm

During the night on Wednesday there was a hut fire on the Postalm in Strobl (Salzburg). The residents of the house were able to save themselves because a lift employee sounded the alarm in good time.

The volunteer fire brigades from Strobl and Abtenau and the Voglau fire engine were alerted by two lift employees at 0.40 a.m. that a hut on the Postalm was on fire. Upon arrival, it was already clear to the emergency services that the people in the house had all saved themselves. A lift employee woke the 45-year-old hut leaseholder and four other people in good time. The Floriani fought the fire in the roof truss using a turntable ladder. The fire was brought under control relatively quickly and the operation ended at 5:30 in the morning. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
