Amazon is determined to make us spend time in front of its streaming service with a new TV box as well as a connected 4K television.

The firm obviously did not forget to say a word, during the presentation of its new line-up of products, on its segment devoted to television.

Fire TV Cube: more powerful and faster to consume your content in 4K

It is Amazon’s premium TV box that has the honor of an upgrade this year. The Fire TV Cube inherits a new 2.0 GHz octa-core processor which makes the brand say that the performance of its new device is 20% higher than that of the previous generation.

Fire TV Cube obviously supports 4K HDR videos as well as Dolby Vision, but also Dolby Atmos for the audio part. The brand also mentioned during its presentation an improved technology for upscaling HD content to 4K.

For connectivity, the Fire TV Cube has an Ethernet port, but also an HDMI port that allows you to connect devices and control them directly with your Alexa remote. In addition, a USB port is available on the device. For a wireless connection, the Fire TV Cube is compatible with Wi-Fi 6E, the latest standard.

The next-generation Fire TV Cube will be available soon. Its price is 159.99 euros and pre-orders are already possible on the Amazon site.

Amazon has also presented its new Alexa Voice Remote Pro, a remote control designed to work with the voice assistant and which offers programmable buttons to activate a routine or service with one click. The accessory has a button backlight that will automatically turn on when the light drops. It is offered for sale separately at a price of 39.99 euros.

A first QLED TV from Amazon

Amazon is also launching its first TV today, dubbed Omni QLED. As its name suggests, the manufacturer has used QLED technology for its panel, which also offers 4K definition. Amazon offers its new device in two screen sizes: 65 and 75 inches.

The Omni QLED also offers support for Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, two technologies that modulate HDR settings according to the ambient light in your room. The user experience will be managed by Amazon with the Fire TV system, and we imagine that Prime Video will be in a very good place, even if all streaming platforms will be accessible.

Amazon has allowed itself a last coquetry by integrating 1,500 works of art used as wallpaper when the device is on standby. The Omni QLEDs are not yet announced in France. For the US, prices are $799 for the 65-inch model and $1,099 for the 75-inch TV.
