Scenes from a brutal action film took place on Saturday evening in the stairwell of a neat new building on Kienmayergasse in Penzing. In the middle of his own apartment door, a resident fired dozens of shots with a rifle – according to “Krone” information it should have been up to 40 – in the direction of WEGA officials. The apparently confused Austrian then also targeted the uniformed officers of the Cobra. Threatened neighbors with a gun The shooter is said to have also threatened one of his neighbors with a gun, which is why he informed the police. Several streets were cordoned off, and armored vehicles were also ordered into Kienmayergasse. Due to the endangerment of the police officers on duty and also the other neighbors of the multi-party building, the raging man was killed with a well-aimed shot by an officer. The 60-year-old man may have suffered from a psychosis.
