Firefighting operation – Pflach: Fire on the roof due to a leaking chimney

Complicated operation for the fire brigade in Pflach in the Ausserfern. A leaking chimney had started a fire that spread to the roof structure.

At around 11:33 a.m. on Wednesday, the roof structure of the apartment building caught fire. Initially, heavy smoke development was noticed in the area of ​​the roof of the house, especially around the chimney. Flames shot out of the column of smoke and the fire spread to the house facade of the directly adjacent upper floor. All residents were able to leave the house in time. Nobody was injured in the incident.Cause quickly clarifiedThe cause of the fire was found to be a leak in the upper area of ​​the chimney. The resulting heat was transferred to the roof structure and subsequently ignited the fire. The extinguishing work of the fire brigades Pflach and Reutte lasted around four hours. 14 emergency services from the Pflach fire brigade, a turntable ladder from the Reutte fire brigade, five paramedics and four police patrols were deployed.
