The new PlayStation Studios Firesprite is busy developing a big narrative horror game. To bring it to life, the studio turned to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.
Acquired by PlayStation last September, Firesprite is still little known despite their great experience. The studio was indeed founded by former Psygnosis, famous for having supplied the PS1 with cult games. The WipEout or Destruction Derby franchises, that’s them. The teams have no shortage of ideas and are currently developing a AAA narrative horror-adventure gamewhich seems to match the previously mentioned “dark narrative adventure” title.

According to a job posting unearthed by a member of ResetEra, Firesprite is keen to make us shiver once again after The Persistence. A PSVR exclusive, available since on PS4, which challenged us to survive in a ship teeming with creatures. Besides the classic strings, the freak came from the roguelike side of the software with a random rearrangement of the ship.
As a result, Firesprite will put its skills to use in a narrative horror-adventure game. He is also looking for a director for the narration.
We are looking for a Narrative Director to join our team for a AAA narrative horror-adventure game under Unreal Engine 5. The Narrative Director is responsible for the narrative of the project, contributing to the establishment of the universe as well as the lore of the game, and ensures to provide quality narrative content during all the key stages of development until release.
There is no mention of compatibility with the PlayStation VR 2, but we cross our fingers (strong).
Firesprite: two other PS5 projects in development
Little but strong ? Firesprite does not only have this horror game in the cards. The company is also developing the PS VR2 title Horizon Call of the Mountain. And if nothing is confirmed, our colleagues from VGC believe that the new Twisted Metal would have been returned to the studio. The English are therefore very busy.
