First Americans, then Swiss: Canada opens borders to vaccinated people

After more than a year of widespread entry restrictions, Canada opens its border to vaccinated Americans. From August 9, US citizens and people residing in the United States will be allowed to enter, provided they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least two weeks beforehand, the Canadian health authority announced on Monday.

From September 7th, all citizens of other countries should also be allowed to enter, provided they are protected from the disease by vaccines. Visitors would then have to enter travel data on an internet portal beforehand – however, a quarantine should not be necessary.
