The next PlayStation hit is coming to PC

On April 30, 2021, the third-person shooter Returnal was released exclusively for the PlayStation 5. More than a year later, there are now increasing indications that that the roguelike shooter will also be released for Steam.

The entry on SteamDB does not explicitly name Returnal, but the given tags suggest the PS5 shooter. In addition, the Tower of Sisyphus, which plays a role in Returnal, is also mentioned.

So it’s only likely that the shooter will also be playable via Steam in the future. However, an official announcement is still pending. In the past, however, Sony had already emphasized that they also want to increasingly bring their games to the PC. For example, God of War, Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn have already appeared on Steam.

By the way: Returnal is also part of the program of the new PlayStation Plus service. The new PS Plus will be available in Europe from June 23, 2022. You can then download Returnal to your PS5 with the Extra and Premium tiers.

What awaits you in Returnal?

In Returnal you explore a gloomy planet as the space pilot Selene and fight various aliens there. The special highlight: Selene is stuck in a time warp, making her death inconclusive.

This results in a wild mix of third-person shooter, roguelike spiral and crisp fights that are reminiscent of the Souls games. In the international trade press, Returnal received an average rating 86 percent pretty well (source: Metacritic).
