The General Council will decide on a city executive report and loan application on March 10th. “The preservation and enhancement of such a heritage can only be of interest to a public community,” said the local councilor Théo Huguenin-Elie, who is responsible for the dossier, on the local radio station RTN on Tuesday evening.
It has been known since last summer that the almost 120-year-old villa, built in the regional Art Nouveau style, is for sale. The municipal council has not yet announced the price the city will have to pay for the emblematic building.
According to Théo Huguenin-Elie, the municipal authorities have agreed on a negotiating framework with the current owners. A purchase price of 1.4 million francs had previously been mentioned in public.
Villa Fallet is located near the «Maison blanche», another work by Le Corbusier that is open to the public and managed by a foundation.
